Silver Lining Rehabilitation Center

Silver Lining Rehabilitation Center

China, Vietnam, and Myanmar

In 2011, Chris and Lydia Yueng established Silver Lining rehabilitation center in Nanning, China, and began to provide “conducive learning” for children with cerebral palsy. Since then, their centers have continued to expand into Vietnam and Myanmar to help meet the heartfelt needs of these children and their families.

Because we are convinced Music Transforms Lives and that ALL children have a right to discover their unique musical talent, we are cooperating with Silver Lining Rehabilitation Center. Research has proven music classes can have a powerful impact on the lives of special needs students (Adamek & Darrow, 2001;  Wilson, 2001). By incorporating music into their curriculum, these students can discover their unique music talent and experience music’s transformative power on their physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being.

Dr. Picker visits the Silver Lining rehabilitation center in Hanoi, Vietnam

In the Fall of 2022, we visited the Hanoi, Vietnam center to begin our cooperation in support of the teachers and students. We are working alongside Dr. Clare Cheng, physiotherapist, to support Silver Lining as we develop their music curriculum and provide virtual and onsite music training for their teachers and staff in China, Vietnam, and Myanmar.
